If it doesn’t have a motor and go fast, Jennifer’s family doesn’t think its fun.  She was raised in a family that pretty much always “feels the need for speed” be it motorcycles, boats, snowmobiles, hot rods, dragsters, you name it. 

As a baby, summers on Shawano Lake started her life on the water.  At her grandpa’s cottage, her mom taught her that you didn’t have to learn how to swim in order to be a good waterskiier—that’s what a life vest was for. 

By the age of 12 she was fortunate to live on the lake every summer.  Her uncle, a MI businessman, taught her the oil business and let her and her brother live with him the whole summer.  At any given time there was always a pontoon boat, ski boat and PWC to use.  Work hard during the day and play at night was their motto.  And play they did.  Jennifer even managed to almost sink a jetski one year.  Not a pretty story and boy was her uncle mad.

She turned into a very responsible boater and before she knew it she met the man of her dreams and he wanted to take her hunting.  Wearing long johns and a parka, carrying a shotgun and calling their dog Thunder, she headed out in to the marsh in her hubby’s 14’ jon boat.  Yes, it must have been love.

Years pass, and an insurance company runs an ad looking for someone for their Marketing dept who enjoys recreational products.  It’s easy to guess who they hired.  From Marketing to Underwriting she went, and the rest is history.

Jennifer is looking forward to purchasing an 18’ Fish & Ski next Spring so that she can teach her husband, Tom, that boats navigate in more than just marshes, and teach her 4 year-old, Hunter, that he doesn’t have to be a good swimmer to be a good waterskiier—that’s what his life vest is for.
